For this #ThroughMyLens feature, we spotlight Young Habibti (@younghabibti)—an artist whose work seamlessly bridges the worlds of architecture and visual storytelling. Her creative journey is a deeply layered exploration of patience, spontaneity, and the delicate balance between structure and fluidity. Through her lens, she captures not just images, but emotions, ideas, and the essence of human connection.

A Story of Duality: Architecture Meets Photography

Young Habibti’s journey has always been about navigating multiple passions. As both an architect and a visual artist, she moves between two worlds that, at first glance, may seem distinct but are, in her eyes, deeply intertwined.

“Architecture taught me the value of patience and long-term vision. It’s a process that requires years to fully come to life,” she shares. “Photography, on the other hand, became my way of engaging with the world in real time—capturing fleeting moments with sincerity and spontaneity.”

Her ability to merge these two disciplines gives her work a unique perspective—one that honors both form and feeling, precision and imperfection, structure and raw emotion.

A Vision Brought to Life: Collaboration with Sweet T

Her latest project is inspired by Oluwatooki “Sweet T” Adegbie, a fellow multi-faceted artist and architect known for his bold graphic style and contemplative nature. In a carefully curated studio session, she set out to bring his vision to life, translating his personality into a series of vibrant, expressive images.

“Every project is a dialogue,” she explains. “It’s a process of understanding my subject’s world, their thoughts, their emotions—and translating that into imagery. With Sweet T, it was about capturing both his vibrant creativity and introspective depth.”

This collaboration reflects a larger theme in her work—the idea that photography is not just about documentation, but about storytelling. For Young Habibti, every image holds an energy, a conversation, and an emotional truth.

The Power of the Muse: Capturing Expression in its Purest Form

At the heart of Young Habibti’s work is the belief that artists are mirrors to the world around them. She considers herself a reflector—someone who honors and elevates the individuals she collaborates with.

“The most powerful moment for me is when my mind’s eye connects with the Muse through the camera,” she says. “It’s a profound exchange—one where I hold my subjects in the highest regard, working to capture their essence in a way that feels honest and immersive.”

Her photography isn’t just about what is seen, but about what is felt—a delicate balance of light, color, and movement that conveys emotion beyond the surface. Whether capturing a person or a place, she strives to illustrate the essence of daring expression—those quiet, bold, or deeply personal moments that define a subject’s true identity.

A Vision for the Future: Merging Visual Expression with Architecture

Young Habibti’s artistic exploration is far from static. In the short term, she is focused on experimenting with themes of love, human connection, and the intersection of multidisciplinary artistry. She finds inspiration in the daring individuals who shape the city—their energy, their movements, their unique ways of expressing themselves.

But her long-term vision is even more ambitious. She envisions a world where her architectural expertise and visual artistry fully converge, crafting immersive experiences that go beyond traditional art forms.

“I want to create something that isn’t just observed, but truly experienced,” she shares. “Spaces that breathe, evolve, and surround people in their own technicolor energy.”

Through her work, Young Habibti continues to push the boundaries of storytelling—reminding us that art is not just about what we see, but about what we feel, live, and embody.
